岩ひば「瑞泉」（ずいせん）

「墨染錦」の変化種で、平葉がパステル調にやわらかく仕上がります。黄色が強くなりますが、ところどころに墨を表し、その墨が秋になると濃くなります。緑、黄色、紅色が入り交じる中に墨が差す紅葉期は、大変美しくなります。

写真①と②は8月26日のもので、まだ葉先に斑が残っています。写真③と④は10月4日のもので、斑が抜け、紅葉に向けて赤みを帯び始めています。写真⑤は11月12日、写真⑥は12月16日のものです。

A spin-off of 'Sumizomenishiki.' Its flat leaves show soft, pastel colors, with yellow being dominant, along with "sumi" (dark stripes) here and there. Fall colors, a mixture of green, yellow, and red, accentuated with "sumi," are stunning.

Pictures 1 & 2 are from August 26. The white variegation remains at the leaf tips. Pictures 3 & 4 are from October 4. The white variegation is gone, and it is beginning to be tinted with red, in preparation for the fall colors. Picture 5 is from November 12, and Picture 6 is from December 16. The seasonal changes in colors and patterns are typical of Iwahiba.
