    ¥12,422

    SOLD OUT

(This item is for the U.S. Group Order. Please see below about how to purchase the same item without participating in the Group Order.) (この商品は米国向け共同購入専用です。日本国内からお買い求めの場合は、3ケタのProduct Codeの最後に「E」を付け足して、商品検索をしてください。同じ商品がお買い求めいただけます。) Omoto (Rohdea japonica) 'Chiyoda no Fu' no. 3 Product Code: 251 As its name suggests, this is the representative cultivar of the Chiyoda line. On the thick and taut leaves, wide, deep green fukurin (in this case, the green around the edges) and white Chiyodafu (streaking variegation) create always refreshing harmony. As it is pretty sturdy, give it plenty of light and fertilizer. Nursery: Nakamuraen (The plant[s] will be shipped “bare-rooted,” without soil or pot, with the roots wrapped in sphagnum moss. If you are participating in the U.S. Group Order, you don’t need to pay for the phytosanitary certificate.) (If you would like to purchase this same item without participating in the U.S. Group Order [you don’t live in the mainland U.S., you already have an Import Permit for the U.S., etc.], you can purchase the same item by adding “E” at the end of the 3-digit product number and enter it in the “Search items” box. For example, if the product number is “100,” enter “100E” in the Search items box on the Home page and you will be presented with the same item.)

    SOLD OUT

(This item is for the U.S. Group Order. Please see below about how to purchase the same item without participating in the Group Order.) (この商品は米国向け共同購入専用です。日本国内からお買い求めの場合は、3ケタのProduct Codeの最後に「E」を付け足して、商品検索をしてください。同じ商品がお買い求めいただけます。) Omoto (Rohdea japonica) 'Otafuku no Zu' Product Code: 245 'Otafuku no Zu' (a registered cultivar on its own) is 'Otafuku' that has developed zu (irregular white variegation). This particular plant, however, may be losing zu (which can happen), so it is priced accordingly. It is "twins," at least, so it can be divided into two plants in the future. 'Otafuku' is one of the best-known maruba (round-leafed) rasha varieties. It will not manifest any strong hagei (formal mutation), except for noshiha (leaves with both sides folded in) and occasional gashiryu (multiple lengthwise ridges), but deep green surrounded by white fukurin (variegation around the edges) emits graceful beauty. It is very sturdy and, for that reason, very popular among beginners. Nursery: Nakamuraen (The plant[s] will be shipped “bare-rooted,” without soil or pot, with the roots wrapped in sphagnum moss. (この商品は米国向け共同購入専用です。日本国内からお買い求めの場合は、3ケタのProduct Codeの最後に「E」を付け足して、商品検索をしてください。同じ商品がお買い求めいただけます。) Omoto (Rohdea japonica ) 'Rikiwa' no. 11 Product Code: 222 The rasha of all rashas. It was named after two men who initially shared its ownership, but you couldn't think of any name that would represent it better than "riki" (power) and "wa" (harmony) combined. The extraordinarily thick leaves that are wide and round at the tip, with deeply carved kouryu (lengthwise ridge) and gashiryu (multiple lengthwise ridges) among other gei (mutations), typify this ever popular cultivar. Picture 3 is of a typical grown plant. The amazing transformation from "baby leaves" to "grown-up leaves" usually takes place in the third year. This particular plant has "complete" fukurin (variegation around the edges). The reason why whether the fukurin is complete or not means a lot is because fukurin will appear on ALL edges, not just on the periphery of the leaves but also on the edges of kouryu (lengthwise ridges) and noshiha (leaves with both sides folded in). It is an important factor to have a dominantly white plant like that in Picture 3. Nursery: Nakamuraen (The plant[s] will be shipped “bare-rooted,” without soil or pot, with the roots wrapped in sphagnum moss. (この商品は米国向け共同購入専用です。日本国内からお買い求めの場合は、3ケタのProduct Codeの最後に「E」を付け足して、商品検索をしてください。同じ商品がお買い求めいただけます。) Omoto (Rohdea japonica) 'Zuisen no Zu' no. 3 Product Code: 203 Legend has it that when this rasha variety was divided for the first time, the bigger piece was sold for 800,000 yen (about $5,100 at today's exchange rate) and the smaller piece for 750,000 yen (about $4,800 at today's exchange rate). Fortunately for us, this cultivar develops lots of baby shoots, so the price has come down quite a bit. It is now the "rasha gem for beginners." Its beauty is none the less for their current affordability, though. This particular plant has zu (irregular white variegation), which makes a 'Zuisen' more valuable. It is also what is called "yakkobuki" (shoots coming out on both sides), so it can potentially be divided into two plants in the future. The cultivar name is 'Zuisen.' 'Zuisen no Zu' means 'Zuisen' with zu. Nursery: Nakamuraen (The plant[s] will be shipped “bare-rooted,” without soil or pot, with the roots wrapped in sphagnum moss. It is very sturdy and, for that reason, very popular among beginners. The label in the picture says 'Otafuku no Zu,' but since the zu (irregular blotches of white variegation) on this plant is not quite distinct enough, we call it 'Otafuku.' Unlike 'Zuisen,' 'Otafuku no Zu' is a registered cultivar independent of 'Otafuku,' and is more highly valued. This plant may or may not develop more distinct zu. Keep your fingers crossed!
