'Souten'

Product Code: 078

A small rasha variety whose thick bottom imparts a unique air of stability to it. Its leaves will develop various gei (mutations) such as noshiha (both sides folded in), gashiryu (multiple lengthwise ridges), haneryu (protrusions off the ridges like "leaping dragons"), gyokuryu (ball-like protrusions off the ridges), and suzumushi-ken (sword-like protrusions at the leaf tips).

Despite its complex mutations, it somehow manages to grow into the typical 'Souten' form no matter who grows it.

It tends to produce baby shoots, especially when it is young, so can also enjoy growing baby divisions.

The pot in Pictures 2 & 3 is about 3.5 inches in diameter.
