岩ひば「春日錦」（かすがにしき）

「丹頂」の変化種で、中心部の葉が黄色に、外側の葉が緑色になる「錦斑」と呼ばれる独特の葉芸を見せます。紅葉の時期には、中心部が赤紅色に、外側が赤紫色に変わります。名品の誉れ高い品種です。

写真①＆②は8月、③＆④は10月、⑤は11月、⑥は12月のものです。錦斑が出るのはこれからですが、熾火のような美しい紅葉色を現しています。

A variation of 'Tanchou' well-known for a special variegation called "nishiki fu," with leaves in the center of a clump turning yellow, and the outer leaves staying green. In fall, leaves in the center turn orange-red, with outer leaves turning purplish red. One of the Iwahiba masterpieces.

Pictures 1 & 2 are from August, Pictures 3 & 4 are from October, Picture 5 is from November, and Picture 6 is from December. This plant is still too young to have a distinct "nishiki fu," but the fall color reminiscent of burning charcoal is beautiful in its own right.
