天保年間から斑物の代表格として知られていますが、斑の白さでは松葉蘭随一といわれます。青く出た芽がまず軸に斑を現し、次いで枝先から雪白の斑が下りてくる、典型的な後冴え品種です。
採光強く育てると斑がきれいに出ますが、翌年葉焼けします。中くらいの日で育ててください。
強健ですが、蒸れに極端に弱いので、風通しよく育ててください。

The cultivar name means “snow on Mt. Fuji.” It develops snow-white variegation in fall, which is whiter than any other cultivar’s. Strong light will enhance the variegation, but too much light will cause it to burn in the following year. Medium light is recommended.
It is sturdy, but extremely vulnerable to humidity, so air movement is key to success.
