ゆらめく炎のような柔らかい木姿が特徴で、成木になると斑が現れます。日を強く採ると斑は冴えますが、葉焼けしやすく、中程度の日で育てた方が無難です。

胞子はほぼつけません。

本種と「太平楽」に関しては、葉焼けのしやすさから病気にもなりやすく、生育期には月に1〜2回の消毒をお勧めします。

Branches dance upward from low points like flames. When it is grown, it will be covered in yellow variegation. Strong light will enhance the variegation, but this cultivar is susceptible to light and easily gets sun-burn. Because of that, this and 'Taiheiraku' are the two cultivars for which monthly or bimonthly use of disinfectant is recommended in the growing seasons.

Sporangia will seldom develop.
